🔪 Gygi Culinary Arts Center
Located in Salt Lake City, this combination culinary shop and cooking school is well-known. While their magnificent kitchens are equipped like those used by professional chefs, their classes cater to those of all abilities and interests. They even offer some special classes just for children! In fact, in December kids can spend the afternoon cooking up some yummy Christmas treats.
Adult classes are offered as well. And, the options are captivating. Consider spending a few hours on Saturday, December 3rd learning to make Kouign Amann, a special croissant-like pastry crusted with sugar. How perfect would these be for Christmas morning?

Their easy-to-use class menu allows you to search by location, chef, type of food, time of day and participant age! It is obvious that they offer something for everyone!
The hardest part about taking a class at Harmons is going to be making a choice from their amazing selection. First, determine who is taking the class. Maybe it’s just you and some friends. Or, perhaps you want to sign up your child? You can even attend with the whole family!
Next, take a look at the available options. Are you looking to enhance your knife skills (always important). Do you want to take an allergy friendly class, or one that is gluten free? Maybe you just want to choose what you would like make (your mouth will water just looking at the choices) – check out the description of the Cinnamon Roll Class!! This well-known organization has a location in downtown Salt Lake City – how convenient! With a broad range of classes open to the community, they are well-known for their variety.

Wow! This place is incredible. Visitors of all ages can take classes from professional chefs. Those interested can even earn a professional certification in culinary arts.
This December you can learn to work with puff pastry, bake artisan breads, and even make homemade popcorn and popcorn treats. Talk about fun! Looking for an activity with your significant other? Check out the “Date Night Experience” where participants will create a full three course meal plus a chef’s choice appetizer! What a great way to spend the evening.

This store, with an national presence, is known for its fabulous inventory of cooking and baking supplies. Honestly, just walking through their showroom will take your breath away. Their Gateway location hosts a broad range of classes; some even geared toward children.
This December options include both Indian and French cuisine classes. Personally, we thought the Date Night in the French Quarter looked just delicious. You can also master sweet and savory crepes, make pasta from scratch and learn to bake winter holiday macarons (YUM)!! Offerings change each month, so make sure to check out their calendar of classes and register in advance — they do sell out!
🥐 Kitchen Kneads – Ogden
Located in Ogden, Utah, this establishment is aptly named: basically, they have everything a baker could need! From ingredients to mixes and appliances to pans (and classes), Kitchen Kneads provides one stop shopping.
Classes are lead by phenomenal instructors and are appropriate for both beginner and experienced home cooks. This month you can take a class in making yummy holiday fudge! 🥄 Spoon and Spatula Cooking School – South Ogden
South Ogden, Utah is home to this cooking school that is perfect for both children and families! Owned by Staci Lane, a mom of four who loves to both teach and cook, this school offers classes for everyone. Stacy is passionate about teaching a skill that will prove useful for a lifetime!
Today, her website shares a calendar of classes for children and families. Choices for children focus on “kid friendly food” including meatball soup and grinch cookies. She even has a class on crockpot meals; this may be the perfect one to take. Imagine how happy you will be to have a freezer full of ready to go meals to serve you family mid-week during this busy holiday season!

Obviously, a plethora of classes are offered throughout the greater Salt Lake City area. By attending one (or two, or even more) you can learn so much.
